Emotional Support Animal Program

🐾 UPMV’s Visiting Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Program

Coming Soon….

Bringing Comfort and Companionship to Veterans—One Visit at a Time

At The Unified Professional Military Veterans Organization (UPMV), we recognize the unique mental and emotional challenges that many Veterans face. That’s why we are proud to introduce our Visiting Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Program, offering Veterans safe and calming interactions with trained emotional support animals—right where they are.

🫶 The Healing Power of a Visit

Our visiting ESA program is designed to provide temporary yet meaningful relief from stress, anxiety, isolation, and trauma. Regular visits from gentle, affectionate animals can:

  • Reduce symptoms of PTSD, depression, and anxiety
  • Lower blood pressure and stress hormones
  • Improve mood and emotional regulation
  • Encourage connection, conversation, and community

🐕 What to Expect from a Visit

UPMV’s trained volunteer handlers and certified emotional support animals will visit participating Veterans at approved facilities, community centers, or partner sites. Each visit is:

  • Veteran-centered –      Tailored to individual comfort levels
  • Safe & supervised – All animals are trained and certified for emotional support visits
  • Therapeutic & uplifting – Focused on bringing calm, joy, and connection

Whether it’s a warm snuggle, a soft paw, or a wagging tail, each encounter is a chance to feel seen, valued, and supported.

🪖 For Veterans, By Veterans

As a Veteran-led organization, UPMV believes that healing comes in many forms. This program is another step in honoring our mission: to support and uplift every Veteran with dignity, respect, and care.

💬 Interested in Hosting or Participating?

We’re currently offering scheduled visits in select locations, with plans to expand access across the region.

👉 Veteran in need of comfort?
👉 Community partner interested in bringing visits to your site?
👉 Animal handler looking to volunteer your certified ESA?

We’d love to connect.
